Instructions for authors
Manuscripts for the Egyptian Journal of Biology should normally not exceed 15 typed pages: any longer papers for this journal should be discussed beforehand with the editors. The Egyptian Journal of Natural History accepts both short and long papers.
The manuscript should be submitted electronically either by email or on a PC-formatted 1.2-MB floppy disc. It should be either an Adobe PDF file, or in MSWord format, in a single file containing all the tables and figures.
If electronic submission is impossible, then three copies of each manuscript, including copies of illustrations, should be submitted on A4 paper.
Manuscripts should be double spaced, printed in font size 12, preferably Times New Roman, with at least 25-mm margins on all sides. On the title page give name, address, telephone, fax and email of the author to whom all correspondence is to be sent.
Journal papers should have a concise and informative title, followed by the names and addresses of all authors. The sequence of material should be: Title, Authors(s), Keywords (extra to any words in the title), Abstract, Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, References (with journal names in full), Appendices (if any), Figure Legends, Figures (each numbered and identified), Tables (each numbered and with a heading). These sections do not need to start on new pages.
If the figures have been scanned and these are not of high-enough quality, the Editors will ask for the original figures. Authors should keep backup copies of all material sent to the Editor.
Charges will be incurred for colour plates.
