Littérature et réalité : Représentation de la crise au nord mali dans mali, ô mali (2014) de l’académicien Français Erik Orsenna

Abstract

Par le biais de la représentation esthétique, dans le sens d’une présentation au second degré, Éric Orsenna propose un discours et un  parcours de lecture de la crise qui secoue le Nord Mali. De ce point de vue, il fait dialoguer deux figures : celle du diplomate sourcier (au  faîte des relations entre le Mali et la France) et celle du romancier sorcier (connaisseur des réalités secrètes africaines). C’est une telle articulation entre littérature et réalité que cet article prend le parti d’analyser à la lumière de techniques narratives romanesques. Celles- ci permettent une « mise en signes » du réel à partir de laquelle le roman français contemporain de l’académicien Erik Orsenna se fait œuvre de témoignage.

English title: Literature and reality: Representation of the crisis in northern Mali in Mali, ô Mali (2014) of French Academician Erik Orsenna

Through aesthetic representation, in the sense of a presentation in the second degree, Eric Orsenna offers a discourse and a reading  path of the crisis that is shaking northern Mali. From this point of view, he brings two figures into dialogue: that of the dowsing diplomat  (at the pinnacle of relations between Mali and France) and that of the sorcerer novelist (connoisseur of secret African realities). It is such  an articulation between literature and reality that this article analyzes in the light of novelistic narrative techniques. These allow a  “signification” of reality from which academician Erik Orsenna’s contemporary French novel becomes a work of testimony.
