Revisiter le concept "Connais-toi toi-même" pour le développement de l’Afrique

Abstract

"Revisiter le concept ŘConnais-toi toi-mêmeř pour le développement de lřAfrique" traite du développement de lřAfrique à partir dřun facteur endogène :  la réappropriation du potentiel culturel. Cette étude fait suite au constat de la politique de domination, dřexploitation et dřaliénation continue dont fait  victime le continent africain depuis plusieurs siècles déjà. Socrate, qui a fait sienne cette maxime, est présenté en premier ressort. Ensuite, il est question  du contexte dřémergence de la maxime et, pour terminer, il sřest agi de parler de lřenjeu de ce concept et de son interprétation. Cette étude a nécessité  de procéder à une recherche documentaire. La rédaction dřun travail scientifique en Histoire des civilisations convoque une approche analytique  pluridisciplinaire. Il ressort de cette réflexion quřau regard de lřexpérience socratique, la connaissance de soi est la voie royale qui mène vers la renaissance et le développement. Cela appelle à redécouvrir la profondeur de ses origines et à prendre conscience de son potentiel dans son entièreté.  En cela, lřAfrique dispose de son héritage culturel millénaire qui ne demande quřà être exploré.

English title: Revisiting the “know yourself” concept for Africa’s development

The present research work which subject matter is "Revisiting the concept know yourself for the developpment of Africa" deals with the rebirth of Africa from an endogenous factor : the reappropriation of the potential based on its cultural springs. This study results from the domination, exploitation and  continous alienation policy that the continent has been facing for several centuries already. Socrates who made this maxim his own, was presented in the  first instance. Then, it was question of the context of appearance of the precept and to finish, it was question to show the stake of this concept and  its interpretation. To carry out this study, we carried out a documentary research. The writing of a scientific work in History of civilizations requires a  multidisciplinary analytical approach. It emerges from this work that with regard to the socratic experience, self-knowledge is the royal road that leads to  rebirth and developpment. This calls for rediscovering the depth of oneřs origins and becoming aware of oneřs potential in its entirety. In this, Africa has  its thousand-year-old cultural heritage just waiting to be explored.
