Abstract

Epigastric hernia are usually small, single or multiple and usually contains
extraperitoneal fat or omentum. Our case presentation is however that of a giant epigastric hernia which contained the stomach, omentum, 70cm of ileum, caecum, appendix, ascending colon, and most of the transverse colon. The neck measured 14cm in diameter and necessitated the use of mesh to effect repair.
