Artesunate, A Promising Anti-Malarial Drug: A Review

Abstract

Malaria is one of the deadliest disease of the tropics, and in particular, Africa. With an on going relentless search for effective drugs to combat the menace, artesunate is presently gaining wide acceptance as a possible candidate. A literary search into the usage and efficacies of the drug was done, to provide a better knowledge on the administration of this apparently effective anti-malarial. The pharmaco-dynamics of artesunate makes it the
much preferred drug presently available for treating malaria; and hence, recommended for wider use.
