Wandering spleen torsion: an unusual cause of acute abdomen
Abstract
Wandering spleens are rare and clinically challenging to obtain a diagnosis. A good examination and imaging can aid in diagnosis although sometimes when a patient presents with acute abdomen, an exploratory laparotomy is required for confirmation. We report a case of torsion of a wandering spleen managed by an open approach (laparotomy) and with some anomalies noted.
