Management of Placenta accreta spectrum - A case report demonstrating the use of one step conservative surgery
Abstract
Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is associated with increased maternal morbidity and mortality. The incidence of PAS has been on the rise globally secondary to increasing cesarean section rates. Hysterectomy is the recommended management; however, various conservative management modalities exist. We describe a case demonstrating one step conservative surgery in the management of placenta accreta spectrum with good outcome in a para 2 + 1 with major placenta praevia and PAS.
