Peer review

Type of peer review
Double-blind: the reviewers do not know the names of the authors, and the authors do not know who reviewed their manuscript.
Step one: Submission of Paper The corresponding author submits the manuscript to the journal via the online submission platform available at the journal’s website: https://eajcr.org/index.php/eajcr/about/submissions
Step two: Editorial Office Screening The Editorial Office verifies that the manuscript complies with the instructions for authors as described in the journal’s For Authors web page. The Editorial Office may mark manuscripts for potential rejection and advise the editor appropriately.
Step three: Appraisal by the Editor The Editor assesses the manuscript, considering its scope, originality and merits. The editor then sends invitations to appropriate reviewers based on the subject and expertise of the individual reviewers. Where Editorial Office has recommended a manuscript to be rejected, the Editor reviews the supporting reasons and makes a decision whether to reject the manuscript at this point or not.
Step four: Reviewer’s Response to Invitations Potential reviewers are sent an abstract of the manuscript and an invitation letter to review the manuscript for potential publication. The reviewers consider the invitation against their own expertise, conflicts of interest and availability. They then accept or decline the invitation to review. If the Editor fails to get at least two reviewers, the Editor invites more potential reviewers and may ask those that have declined to suggest alternative reviewers. If the manuscript fails to attract two potential reviewers, the Editor will reject the manuscript at this point due to technical reasons.
Step five: Manuscript Review Once two potential reviews have been identified, the editor sends an anonymous manuscript to the reviewers who are required to provide a detailed point-by-point review within 21 days.
Step six: Editor Evaluates the Reviews The editor considers a minimum of two returned reviews before deciding. If one or both reviewers fail to return the reviews within the stipulated timelines or their reviews differ widely, the editor may invite an additional reviewer (s) so as to get an extra opinion before making a decision.
Step seven: The Decision is Communicated The editor sends a decision (accepted, accepted with corrections or rejected) email to the author including any relevant reviewer comments. Comments are anonymous.
Step eight: Payment of publication fee If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the author is required to pay the publication fee of USD 85. If the manuscript is accepted with corrections the author is required to review the manuscript and re-submit before making the publication payment.
Step nine: Production and Publication Once the publication fee is received, the manuscript is sent to the production and publications department.
