Gaseous fuel production by anaerobic fungal degradation of banana leaves
Abstract
Anaerobic biodegradation of banana leaves by cellulolytic fungus (yeast) was carried out at optimum operational conditions of temperature (330C), PH (7.3) and slurry concentration (4g/25cm3). The organic component of the gaseous fuel generated was analysed using flame ionization detector (FID). The analysis revealed that the gaseous fuel was rich in methane (CH4).
