The contribution of linear programming to production planning - a case study of the SAIDAL - complex
Abstract
This research aims to clarify the importance of using the linear programming method in order to develop a production plan for the antibiotics branch in Medea – Sidal -. It also focuses on sensitivity analysis and how to use it in adapting the obtained program to changes in demand; As well as with the limitations of productive resources in order to comply with modern methods of management and production planning. In view of the numerical results reached, it became clear to us that the branch did not carry strategic features with regard to the production function, by virtue of the presence of several deficiencies, especially in the aspect of total production planning, and the production plan prepared by the branch does not provide that information on which control is based, given that it represents unrealistic plan; Therefore, it will not be useful in improving operations in the future.
