Abstract

The study of mechanisms of spatial convergence, and their impact on achieving spatial development requires to study the spatial economic structure to find out the strengths and weaknesses in the construction of local economies which have become more of a necessity to reduce disparities and spatial differences within the same geographic structure, in order to guide economic and social public policies for targeting development possibilities and resources more effectively, we use this spatial econometrics analysis, in order to identify the disparities among Algerian cities (35 city) and determine factors that affect spatial development. The results of data envelopment analysis and spatial econometric methods indicate the presence of heterogeneity and disparities among Algerian cities. also, this analysis shows that the application of spatial and regional development mechanisms is still limited in creating links and interactions between regions, which are a component of the national economy.
