1. GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR PUBLICATION
The journal «Clinics in Mother and Child Health» publishes original and review articles, case reports, editorials, letters to the editors and reports from seminars and congresses relating to mother and child health issues and should have a public health impact. Articles should be in either English or French with a summary in the other language and should not have been previously published in another journal. Three (03) well printed copies of good quality, 25 lines maximum per page, with a word size of 12 including photos, figures, graphs, with double-spacing should be addressed
to the editor.
Manuscripts should be sent on a CD Rom in MS Word document format. This should be well labelled and the exploited system indicated. Obligatorily, an electronic copy can be sent to the Editor-in-Chief through the two e-mails:
clinicsmch@yahoo.com and tandersondoh@yahoo.com
All articles are anonymously referred to two reviewers for comments, criticisms and suggestions. These are returned to the corresponding author.
Measurements are reported in metric units (meter, kilogram, or litre). Temperatures should be given in degrees Celsius. Blood pressures should be given in millimetres of mercury. All hematologic and clinical chemistry measurements should be reported in the metric system in terms of the International System of Units (SI).
Submission of an article for publication implies the transfer of the copyright from the author to «Clinics in Mother and Child Health». The author has the responsibility to obtain permission to reproduce illustrations, tables, etc from other publications. All accepted articles become the exclusive property of the journal.
2. PRESENTATION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Whatever the rubric, the 1st page is the «Title page» indicating the title (in English and French), author’s(s) names and institution where the work was conducted. The addresses of all the authors should be noted, including telephone, fax and e-mail of the corresponding author.
· Letters to the editor: should not exceed 2 pages including references which should not exceed 5.
· Editorials:generally requested by the editors,should not exceed 5 pages with references which should not be more than 15
· Original articles: should be divided into i) Introduction, ii) Materials and Methods iii) Results iv) Discussion v) Conclusion; and should not be more than 15 pages (excluding references).
· Review articles: should not be more than 20 pages (excluding references).
· Brief reports, reports of congresses, seminars and symposiums: relating to mother and child health and should not exceed 15 pages, references included but not obligatory. · Case reports: should not be more than 10 pages with references. A conclusion should be given indicating pertinence
of the case and implications on mother and child health. In any case, abbreviations should be limited and defined after their first usage. Drugs or any other chemical substances should be designated by their generic names in small letters. If the speciality names are unavoidable they should appear in brackets, with the first letter in capitals.
3. SUMMARY / KEY WORDS
The second page is the «summary page». All articles submitted for publication should have a brief unstructured summary in English and French of not more than 250 words. It should contain neither abbreviations nor references.
3 – 10 key words should be given to permit indexing.
4. TABLES
Tables are numbered in roman figures with a label, and each should appear on a separate sheet. (I,II,III,V...).
5. FIGURES
Figures should be of excellent quality and numbered in arabic figures. They should be labelled and each should appear on a separate sheet (1, 2, 3, 4, 5……).
N.B: Tables and figures should be restricted to the strict minimum and well commented in the text.
6. REFERENCES
References are limited to the authors cited and numbered according to apparition in the text. Numbering in the text should be in square brackets separated by a hyphen when references are consecutive, example: [1-7], and by comas when references are not consecutive: [2,4,9,10]. References by the World Health Organization should be cited as «WHO» not «OMS». The titles of journals should be abbreviated according to the style used in Index Medicus.
If there are up to six authors, all of them should be cited. Above six, only the first six are cited, followed by a coma and «et al». References should follow the norms adopted by the «International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)»: Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals: Writing and Editing for Biomedical Publication (Updated October 2005).

1. CONDITIONS GÉNÉRALES DE PUBLICATIONS
Le journal «Clinics in Mother and Child Health» publiera des articles, de revues, des cas cliniques, des éditoriaux, des lettres adressées aux éditeurs et des rapports des séminaires et congrès ayant un lien avec la santé de la mère et de l’enfant et qui devraient avoir un impact sur la santé publique. Les articles devraient être rédigé en anglais ou en
français avec un résumé dans les deux langues. Ils ne devraient pas avoir été publiés antérieurement dans un autre journal. Trois exemplaires, bien imprimés, de 25 lignes au maximum par page, taille de la police 12 minimum, incluant photos, dessins, graphiques avec doubles interlignes devant être envoyés au Rédacteur-en- Chef.
Les manuscrits doivent être envoyés sur CD Rom utilisant MS word. Une copie électronique doit être envoyée obligatoirement au Rédacteur-en-Chef par les deux adresses électronique suivantes: clinicsmch@yahoo.com, tandersondoh@yahoo.com.
Tous les articles sont anonymés et référés à 2 lectures pour commentaires, critiques et suggestions. Les avis de lecteurs sont ensuite retournés à l’auteur principal.
Les mesures sont reportées aux unités métriques (mètres, kilogrammes, litres). Les températures seront données en degré celsius. Les pressions sanguines en millimètres de mercure. Toutes les mesures hématologiques et chimiques seront reportées au système métrique selon les termes du système International de mesure (SI).
La soumission d’un article à la publication implique le transfert du droit d’auteur à «Clinics in Mother and Child Health». Toutes les contributions à «Clinics in Mother and Child Health» deviennent la propriété exclusive du journal.
L’auteur a la responsabilité d’obtenir la permission de reproduire les démonstrations, les tableaux des autres publications.
2. PRÉSENTATION DES MANUSCRITS
Quelle que soit la rubrique, la 1ère page est ‘‘la page du titre’’, indiquant le titre (en français ou en anglais), les noms des auteurs et les institutions dans les quelles le travail a été fait. Les adresses de tous les auteurs seront notées, incluant le numéro de téléphone, fax et e-mail de l’auteur (obligatoire) à qui toute correspondance doit être faite.
· Lettres à l’éditeur : les manuscrits ne doivent pas excéder 2 pages incluant les références qui ne doivent pas excéder 5pages.
· Editoriaux : généralement exigés par les auteurs, ne doivent pas dépasser 5 pages avec références qui ne doivent pas dépasser 15.
· Articles originaux : doivent être divisés en : i) Introduction, ii) Matériels et méthodes, iii) Résultats, iv) Discussion , v) Conclusion. Ils ne doivent pas dépasser 15 pages (excluant les références). · Articles de revues: les manuscrits ne doivent pas dépasser 20 pages (incluant les références)
· Les rapports brefs, rapports de congrès, séminaires et symposiums relatifs à la santé de la mère et de l’enfant ne doivent pas excéder 15 pages ; références incluses mais non obligatoires.
· Cas cliniques : ne doivent pas dépasser 10 pages avec les références. Une conclusion doit être donnée indiquant la pertinence du cas et les implications sur la santé de la mère et de l’enfant.
Dans tous les cas, les abréviations devront être définies après leur 1ère utilisation. Les médicaments et autres substances chimiques seront désignés par leurs noms génériques en lettres minuscules ainsi que les noms de spécialité entre parenthèse, avec la 1ère lettre en majuscule.
3. RÉSUMÉ / MOTS CLÉS
La 2ème page est la «page du résumé». Tous les articles soumis à la publication doivent avoir un bref résumé non structuré en anglais et en français, et ne doit pas excéder 250 mots. Il ne doit contenir ni abréviation, ni références.
3-10 mots clés doivent être donnés pour permettre l’indexation.
4. TABLEAUX
Les tableaux sont numérotés en chiffres romains avec un libellé, et chacun doit apparaître dans une feuille différente. (I, II, III, IV…).
5. FIGURES
Les illustrations doivent être d’excellente qualité et numérotées en chiffre arabe. Elles doivent être libellées et chacune doit apparaître sur une feuille différente. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5…).
N.B. les tableaux et les illustrations doivent être restreints au strict minimum et bien commentés dans le texte.
6. RÉFÉRENCES
Les références sont limitées aux auteurs cités et numérotés selon l’apparition dans le texte. Le numérotage dans le texte sera en parenthèses carrées [ ] séparé par des tirets lorsque les références sont consécutives, exemple : [1-7], et par les virgules lorsque les lorsque les références ne sont pas consécutives, exemple: [2,4,9,10]. Les références
de l’OMS doivent être cités «WHO» et non «OMS». Les titres des journaux doivent être abrégé selon le style utilisé dans l’Index Medicus.
S’il y a 6 auteurs, tous seront cités. Au-delà, seuls les 6 premiers seront cités, suivi de «et al».
Les références devront suivre les normes adoptées par le «International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)»: Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals: Writing and Editing for
Biomedical Publication (Mise à jour Octobre 2005).
