Instructions to Authors The Cameroon Journal of Agricultural Science is a peer-reviewed journal which publishes on a biennial basis, original articles and critical reviews in English and French on all fields of agriculture, including agronomy, plant physiology and biochemistry, food science and technology, crop protection, plant genetics and crop improvement, horticulture, forestry, animal production, animal health, agricultural economics and rural sociology. Instruction to authors will be published in each issue of the journal, and authors are requested to adhere very strictly to these instructions so as to respect the house-style of the journal. Submitted manuscripts which do not conform to the journal’s house-style will be immediately returned to the authors. There are no page charges for publication in this journal. Submission of manuscripts. Three hard copies (one original and two clear photocopies) alongside with an electronic copy on a 3.5 inch diskette written in MicroSoft Word, of the complete manuscript should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Cameroon Journal of Agricultural Science, c/o IRAD, BP 2123 Messa, Yaounde, Cameroon. The Editor-in-Chief acknowledges receipt of the manuscript and forwards it to the Editorial Board for the review process. Preparation of manuscripts. The entire manuscript (including tables and figures) must not exceed 16 double-spaced typed pages. The cover page should include (i) complete title of article, (ii) running title not exceeding 60 characters and spaces, (iii) author’s names and first name initials, (iv) complete addresses, (v) corresponding author’s name, telephone and fax numbers and email address. The second page should include the Title of article, Abstract in both English and French, and four to eight key words. Do not include author’s name(s) in second page. Article structure: The manuscript should be arranged into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement (if necessary) and References. Tables: Type each table on a separate page using Arabic numerals (e.g. Table 1), in the order in which they are mentioned in the text. Figures: High-quality hard copies of photos, graphs, drawings and maps should be produced and numbered in Arabic numerals (e.g. Figure 1). Units: You must use SI units (Système International) in the presentation. References: You must use the Harvard system of citing references. References are arranged in alphabetical order, and not numbered, and in text referred to as: author and year of publication, e.g. Ebangi et al (2002) or (Ngeve 2003) or at the end of the sentence, (Asongwed-Awa and Njoya 2002). In citing books, do not omit the publisher’s city and country). Use the following as guidelines. Once accepted, proofs are sent to the corresponding author who has a maximum of two weeks to address comments raised and return the corrected proof. Copyright is transferred to the journal once an article is accepted for publication. Offprints. Twenty-five off-prints and one issue of the journal containing the article are sent to the first author. Reprints can be ordered after acceptance of the article at the time of transferring copyright to the journal. Recommandations aux Auteurs Le Journal Camerounais des Sciences Agricoles est un journal à comité de lecture qui publie des articles originaux et les synthèses en Anglais et en Français sur l’agronomie, la physiologie et biochimie des plantes, la technologie alimentaire, la protection des végétaux, la génétique et amélioration des plantes, l’horticulture, la foresterie, les productions animales, la santé animale, l’économie agricole et la sociologie rurale. Les instructions aux auteurs seront publiées dans chaque numéro du journal; les auteurs sont demandés d’adhérer étroitement à ces instructions pour être en conformité avec les exigences du journal. Les manuscrits soumis qui ne sont pas en conformité avec ces recommandations seront retournés aux auteurs. La publication dans ce journal est gratuite. Soumission des manuscrits. Le manuscrit est soumis en 3 exemplaires dont un original. Le texte est dactylographié en double interligne, et toutes les pages sont numérotées. Une copie électronique écrite en format Microsoft Word sur disquette (3.5 inches) accompagne le manuscrit qui est donc envoyée au Rédacteur-en-Chef, Cameroon Journal of Agricultural Science, c/o IRAD, BP 2123 Messa, Yaounde, Cameroon. Le Rédacteur-en-Chef accuse réception du manuscrit et l’envoie au Conseil de Rédaction pour lecture. Préparation des manuscrits. Le manuscrit entier (plus tableaux et figures) ne doit pas dépasser 16 pages en double interligne. La page de couverture contient (i) un titre précis de l’article, (ii) un titre courant ne dépassant pas 60 caractères ou espaces, (iii) noms, initiales des prénoms, (iv) adresses complètes des auteurs, (v) nom, numéros de téléphone et fax, adresse Email de l’auteur assurant la correspondance. La seconde page contient le Titre de l’article, le résumé en Anglais et Français, et quatre à huit mots clés. Ne pas inclure les noms des auteurs dans cette seconde page. Plan des articles: Le manuscrit doit être arrangé en Introduction, Matériels et Méthodes, Résultats, Discussion, Conclusion, Remerciements (s’il y a lieu) et Bibliographie. Tableaux: Numérotez les tableaux en chiffres Arabes (par exemple, Tableau 1), dans l’ordre de leur apparition dans le texte. Figures: Photos, graphes, dessins et cartes doivent être en haute qualité et numérotés en chiffres Arabes (Par exemple, Figure 1) dans l’ordre d’apparition. Unites: Utilisez les unités SI (Système International) dans la présentation. Réferences: Utilisez le système Harvard. Elles doivent être citées dans le texte de la manière suivante : Ebangi et al (2002) ou (Ngeve 2003), ou, à la fin de la phrase, (Asongwed-Awa et Njoya 2002). Vingt-cinq tirés à part gratuits et une copie du numéro sont envoyés uniquement au premier auteur ou au correspondant désigné lors de l’expédition de l’article. Des tirés à part additionnels peuvent être commandés au moment de retourner les épreuves.
