Chemoselective metal free deallylation of α-allyl-phenyl-carboxylic esters under reduction condition
Abstract
A simple and efficient method for chemoselective deallylation of –COO-allyl group in presence of C-allyl group has been developed. C-allyl cleavage of α-methylene compounds was successfully completed by refluxing with excess sodium borohydride in methanol. The reagent's stability, ready availability and ease of handling encourage its usage for deallylation.
