Poésie de résistance au Congo belge. \"Le stupide étranger au long nez\"
Abstract
Résumé
La résistance armée à l\'occupation coloniale dans la région de l\'Equateur de la RDC, est relativement bien documentée, notamment grâce aux enquêtes de Edmond Boelaert. Les textes que nous reproduisons ici témoignent de l\'existence d\'une opposition plus pacifique. Malgré la réussite économique de la colonisation et le bien-être grandissant des colonisés, les bénéficiaires restaient insatisfaits et aspiraient à la libération du joug colonial. Ils exprimaient leurs sentiments, entre autres, par une voie traditionnelle: la poésie.
Cinq poèmes de quatre auteurs sont à situer dans les années trente-quarante et deux textes d\'un auteur, à l\'approche de l\'indépendance. Ils ont été publiés dans des périodiques locaux, en lomongo, pour un public \"indigène\". Les auteurs, d\'origine rurale, avaient vécu longtemps en contact avec les Blancs.

Summary
Forms of armed resistance to the colonial occupation in the Equator region of the DRC are relatively well documented, thanks to the investigations made by Edmond Boelaert. The texts that we reproduce here reveal that more pacific forms of opposition existed too. In spite of the economic success of the colonization and the growing well-being of the colonized, the latter remained unsatisfied and longed to be freed from the colonial yoke. They expressed their feelings through a traditional means: poetry. We publish, in French translation, five poems written by four authors, and dating from the 1930s, as well as two texts by one author, written at the eve of independence. They were published in Lomongo in local magazines targeting an “indigenous” audience. The authors, all of rural origin, had since long been living in close contact with Whites.
