Readings with an electronic capacitance instrument were compared with yields from the same areas in natural veld of different heights, and from a grass-clover pasture. The regression of meter reading against oven-dry weight was determined. A highly significant regression was found in respect of the data from the grass-legume pasture and a significant regression from natural veld with a height of 2 to 6 inches. No significance was found in respect of either fresh weights or oven-dry weight of longer veld grass.
