Productional and morphological reaction to defoliation of Cenchrus ciliaris L
Abstract
The productional and morphological reaction of Cenchrus ciliaris cv. Molopo was studied over a period of one year under greenhouse conditions. The results indicate a great flexibility in the utilization programme of the grass. Frequency of defoliation, however, appears to be more critical than intensity of defoliation as far as root mass is concerned.
