Modeling the factors that influence behavioural intention to use Iris Authentication approach for public authentication among Nigerian users of public terminals
Abstract
Study of technology adoption serves as a roadmap to the actual acceptance of the technology starting from the external factors to personal beliefs, intentions, adoption which finally leads to actual usage of the technology. The study aims at determining the factors that verify users’ acceptance of iris-based authentication approach in Nigerian public domains for allowing its successful implementation in the future. In achieving the research objective a quantitative research is designed to survey the ATM users. A total of 351 respondents were involved. A survey instrument is developed based on the underpinning theory (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT)) and also from relevant literatures on iris authentication implementation for the six dimensions of Behavioural Intention (BI) to use iris-based authentication. This paper examines the psychological factors that predict the intention of Nigerian user of public terminals to use iris authentication for their public authentication using ATM users as the participants.
