The farms in Ghana are primarily located in the hinterlands, making it very difficult to get the agri-food stuff transported to the marketplaces or points of a process, usually leading to substantial post-harvest losses due to the short life of most of the foodstuff. Therefore, it is imperative to devise the right food distribution strategy to reduce post-harvest loss. The study examined the influence of green logistics and food distribution strategy on post-harvest loss reduction. Structural equation modelling was used to analyse 238 useable data from the extension officers, freight forwarding/logistics companies, and local food distributing agencies in Ghana. We found support for all the two hypotheses. We then offer both theoretical and managerial implications.
2025-01-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://www.ajol.info/index.php/ajplscm/article/view/287583 Behavioral Competencies, Supply Chain Resilience and Firm Performance: The Moderating Effect of Internal Integration 2025-01-27T15:18:17+00:00 Owusu K editor@damaacademia.com Issah Ofori kwabenaofori35@gmail.com David Ackah drackah@ipmp.edu.gh
This study explores the mediating effect of supply chain resilience on the relationship between behavioral competencies and firm performance and how internal integration can moderate the relationship between supply chain resilience and firm performance. The study adopted explanatory research design and a purely quantitative approach. A convenient and purposive sampling techniques were used to collect 227 responses. The structural equation model was used to analyze 227 healthcare delivery firms drawn from the health sector in Ashanti Region of Ghana. The findings show that behavioral competencies have a positive and significant effect on supply resilience. Supply chain resilience had a positive and significant effect on firm performance. The study specifically aims to determine the extent of IT system usage in inventory management in supermarkets at Anaji Choice Mart, Takoradi, as well as to establish the advantages of IT usage on inventory management at the Mart and to identify the difficulties associated with using IT in inventory management there. The entire staff population of 150 was sampled for this study using a non-probability sampling technique called purposive sampling. Descriptive statistics, such as frequencies and percentages, were used to analyse the data and explain the variable characteristics. According to the study's findings, Anaji Choice Mart's inventory management system uses information technology to determine order quantity, forecast demand, stock valuation and accounting, stock keeping units, and just-in-time (JIT) systems. Additionally, it was learned from the respondents that ICT has an impact on the Mart's inventory management performance, and it was also revealed from the respondents that there are challenges.
2025-01-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://www.ajol.info/index.php/ajplscm/article/view/287590 Procurement Strategies and Competitive Advantage: Assessing the Impact of Project Performance as a Moderator 2025-01-27T15:36:57+00:00 Issah Ofori kwabenaofori35@gmail.com Samuel Agyei Baah editor@damaacademia.com Evelyn Appiah-Kubi editor@damaacademia.com Henry Kwame Afriyie editor@damaacademia.com
In the modern business landscape, procurement strategies have emerged as essential tools for achieving competitive advantage. As organizations face increasing pressure to deliver superior products and services while maintaining cost-efficiency, the adoption of effective procurement strategies becomes crucial for long-term success (Cousins et al., 2019). These strategies encompass various practices such as cost management, supplier relationship management, and sustainable sourcing, which collectively aim to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and drive innovation (Brammer & Walker, 2021). While research has extensively examined the direct impact of procurement strategies on organizational performance, less attention has been paid to understanding the role of project performance as a moderating factor in this relationship (Meng, 2020). Project performance, which refers to the successful execution of projects in terms of time, cost, and quality, is often overlooked in the context of procurement strategies. However, project performance is an essential determinant of whether procurement strategies achieve the desired competitive advantage (Muller et al., 2021). This study follows an explanatory research design, which is primarily aimed at understanding the cause-and-effect relationships among variables (Saunders et al., 2019). The explanatory approach explored how procurement practices affect competitive advantage, and how project performance moderates this relationship. This design is appropriate for testing hypotheses that seek to explain the impact of project performance as a moderator in this relationship. A quantitative approach was adopted, as it allows for the measurement of relationships and the testing of hypotheses using statistical techniques (Bryman & Bell, 2019). The quantitative approach is suitable for this study since it involves numerical data that can be analyzed to identify the strength and direction of relationships. Data was collected through primary sources using a structured questionnaire. The findings of the study statistically indicate that procurement strategies have a positive and significant influence on competitive advantage. Project performance has a positive and significant influence on competitive advantage. Project performance positively and significantly moderates the relationship between procurement strategies and competitive advantage. The study recommends that organizations should enhanced execution and efficiency, embrace adaptability and innovation, ensure strategic alignment and goal achievement, risk mitigation and, operational excellence.
2025-01-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://www.ajol.info/index.php/ajplscm/article/view/287591 Logistics Capabilities, Supply Chain Performance and SMEs Sustainability: the moderating effect of Digital Technology 2025-01-27T15:43:33+00:00 Ofori Issah editor@damaacademia.com Samuel Agyei Baah editor@damaacademia.com Evelyn Appiah-Kubi editor@damaacademia.com Henry Kwame Afriyie editor@damaacademia.com
In today’s dynamic business landscape, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) encounter growing challenges in achieving sustainability. Logistics capabilities and supply chain performance play a crucial role in the strategic operations of SMEs, making the adoption of digital technology increasingly vital. However, despite its acknowledged importance in logistics and supply chain management, there is a lack of detailed understanding regarding how digital technology specifically impacts the sustainability of SMEs. This gap highlights the need for focused research into its influence on logistics capabilities, supply chain performance, and overall sustainability. To address this, the study utilized an explanatory single cross-sectional survey method for data collection, employing a stratified sampling technique to draw a sample of 230 participants. The findings revealed that logistics capabilities positively and significantly influence supply chain performance and the sustainability of SMEs. Moreover, digital technology was found to positively moderate the relationship between logistics capabilities and supply chain performance, as well as the relationship between logistics capabilities and sustainability. Based on these findings, the study recommended that organizations adopt advanced data analytics tools to maximize the potential of supply chain data, implement Internet of Things (IoT) technologies for real-time monitoring and enhanced visibility, and utilize cloud-based collaboration platforms to ensure seamless communication and information sharing among supply chain partners.
2025-01-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025
