African Journal of Social Work is an international refereed journal that serves as a forum for exchanging ideas and knowledge and discussing issues relevant to social work practice, education and research in the African region. Producing 2 issues a year, the Journal is published by the National Association of Social Workers (Zimbabwe) and is committed to reflecting culturally relevant and appropriate social work practice in Africa. Social work is seen as a broad-based profession that can vary from individual casework to community development and policy-related concerns.

The Journal of Social Development in Africa (JSDA) publishes analyses of social development issues as they affect the poor and marginalised. It deals especially with concerns relevant to sub-Saharan Africa and is addressed to development workers, social workers, planners, policymakers and academics in a variety of fields. The Journal seeks to enhance understanding of the social development processes to contribute to the planning and implementation of appropriate intervention strategies at different levels. Its goal is to discover how to target projects that are relevant to those most in need and how to maximise popular participation to create egalitarian and productive communities.

The Journal of Social Issues in Non-Communicable Conditions and Disability (SINCCD) promotes the creation and dissemination of knowledge of social issues in non-communicable diseases and disability with a focus on the African continent. There is currently a gap in Africa in terms of academic publications for non-communicable conditions and disability, particularly the social issues. SINCCD is a refereed journal publishing original articles on research, practice and education, policy and service user experiences. The journal is open access and submission is free.

People Centred – The Journal of Development Administration

The Journal of Development Administration (JDA) publishes papers that have implications for development globally but with a focus on African development. The journal is people centred because we believe in people centric approaches to development. This is development with a human face. By putting people at the centre of development, practitioners, governments and agencies have greater chances of taking people out of poverty. This bottom-up approach to understanding poverty, planning against it and implementing poverty reduction strategies is seen as the best recipe for development.
The Journal considers articles from a wide variety of interest areas and from a wide spectrum of disciplines. The editor works with an editorial team from across the globe derived from development sectors mainly in the social sciences. Specific areas covered include but are not limited to development management; resource mobilisation and fundraising; inclusive development; sustainable development; disability and development; gender and development; poverty; sustainable development; social services and development; human development; HIV/AIDS; child development; counselling; rural development; governance; disaster management; agriculture and livelihoods; and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
The Journal accepts manuscripts in the form of original research reports, research summaries, book reviews, literature review articles including systematic reviews, think pieces, reports of practice and original frameworks. Other forms of papers may be published at the discretion of the Editor.

SAFERE: Southern African Feminist Review

SAFERE provides women with a writing platform which is feminist in content and orientation, as well as facilitating for African women to express their ideas and interests through a medium which is supportive and encouraging of feminist opinions and positions. The Journal is one of barely a handful of feminist journals coming out of Africa, and through careful editing and the collection of high quality written work, it has established itself as a journal of world standing from the time it was first published in 1995.

The Zimbabwe Scientific Association was founded in Bulawayo in 1899 (called the Rhodesia Scientific Assocation at the time) to promote the study and advancement of science in Zimbabwe and to facilitate the acquisition and dissemination of scientific knowledge. Its journal, Transactions of the Zimbabwe Scientific Association, was first published in 1903 and is now in its seventy-second volume. It is a multi-disciplinary journal and publishes papers on any aspect of science in Zimbabwe or the southern African region.
The Transactions of the Zimbabwe Scientific Association has ceased publication.

The Zimbabwe Journal of Educational Research (ZJER) is an international refereed journal that is published by the University of Zimbabwe’s Human Resources Research Centre (HRRC) under the Faculty of Education. The journal is available in print and online three times a year. ZJER is hosted online by African Journals OnLine (AJOL) at www.ajol.info. The main thrust of ZJER is to facilitate the publication of educational and scholarly research articles written by academics throughout the world. The HRRC has a team of Editors, supported by the Editorial Board and Editorial Advisory Board, which works to maintain and improve the quality of our publications.

The Zimbabwe Journal of Health Sciences (ZJHS) is a peer reviewed journal published by the Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe. The journal aims at providing space for sharing and debating issues across disciplines such as Clinical Social Work, Counselling, Nutrition, Health Education, Natural Therapy, Paramedics, Psychology, Radiography, Ultrasonography and related areas. It is published bi-annually and considers research articles, commentaries (review reports), short communications, and book reviews as categories of contributions. Manuscripts submitted to the journal should not have been published elsewhere nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Papers will be reviewed by at least two expert referees. Articles submitted should be in the health field.
Aims and Scope
The journal will aim to give insight into the most urgent and important questions facing health practitioners globally across the many different fields of health sciences. The journal will welcome articles from all disciplines and articles that look at important interdisciplinary clinical issues. The journal aims to both educate health practitioners on important topics and discover new answers to key questions in health and will therefore consider both systematic reviews and topical educational reviews giving up-to-date summaries of key areas. Therefore, the journal will have an educational role and will not accept articles based solely on impact, but on relevance to today's health issues that have an impact on the future, as determined by the editors. The journal also aims to boost the visibility of both practitioners and the council and as such, through publications, health practitioners are encouraged to showcase ground-breaking research and innovations that they may have come up with.

Zimbabwe Veterinary Journal contains original and review papers on all aspects of animal health in Zimbabwe and SADC countries, including articles by non-veterinarians.This journal did not publish any issues between 2002 and 2015 but has been revived and and it actively accepting papers and publishing from 2016.
