Abstract
Deep-set longline investigations of the slope waters off northern KwaZulu-Natal on the east coast of South Africa confirmed the first records of the longnose spiny dogfish Squalus blainvillei (Squalidae) and the deepwater stingray Plesiobatis daviesi (Urolophidae) from South African waters.
