Hearing loss following Caesarian Section under Spinal Anaesthesia- A Case report
Abstract
A 35-year-old parturient underwent emergency Caesarian section under subarachnoid block. A subarachnoid injection of 2.2ml hyperbaric bupivacaine and fentanyl 5μg was administered after 2 attempts at dural puncture. On the 3rd day postoperatively, she developed hearing impairment associated with postdural puncture headache (PDPH). Thereafter, hearing function improved gradually over a period of three weeks.
