All articles are received and reviewed by the editor in chief who distributes them to the reviewers for comments. After the review of the articles, the virtual editorial board selects the articles to be published in a particular issue. Individual members of the editorial board read the final manuscript before publication.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
As a learned society, charity and independent publisher, the Anatomy Journal of Africa embraces the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License which maintains the scholarly publishing environment that is fundamental to how Anatomists improve, validate and share their research.

Focus and Scope
Anatomy Journal of Africa is the Official Journal for the Association of Anatomical Societies of Africa. This journal has its editorial office based at the department of Human Anatomy, University of Nairobi, and has biannual issues (January and July issues).
We accept and publish a wide variety of papers including:
- Applied anatomy - Clinical anatomy - Morphology, - Embryology - Anatomical techniques and Variant anatomy.
