Human Nature and the Social Order
Abstract
This paper takes cognizance of the fact that the ideas of human beings or human persons and a social order are mutually re-in forcing or mutually inclusive. It argues that a stable, peaceful, and progressive social order will be promoted to some extent if the differences in the elements of human nature are acknowledged and accommodated. This is partly because the survival of a society largely depends on the preservation of human beings and vice-versa. This implies that what affects one sooner or later influences the other to a lesser or greater degree. In order to defend its position, the paper discusses the nature of human beings (or persons), general conceptions of human nature and its dimensions, the nature and requirements of a social order as well as the relationship between human nature and the social order.
Key words: Humanity, Beings, Nature, Society, Order.
