Utilisation du Système d’Information Géographique (SIG) pour la restructuration du Sud-Est de la ville de Porto-Novo, Bénin

Abstract

Depuis la fin du siècle dernier, l’urbanisation de la planète se présente comme un phénomène irréversible. Malgré les progrès notables réalisés dans certaines villes, les processus de planification et d’aménagement urbain ne sont pas à la mesure de la croissance urbaine. Cette étude fait un état des lieux sur la politique d’aménagement pour une bonne gestion de l’espace urbain. Il s’agit de manière spécifique, d’initier un plan de restructuration d’un certain nombre d’infrastructures de la partie sud-est du noyau urbain de la ville de Porto-Novo. La démarche méthodologique adoptée se base sur l’outil SIG avec l’utilisation des analyses de proximité. Comme résultats, on a une idée claire et précise du nombre de bâtis qui se retrouvent dans l’emprise des routes, du chemin de fer et des marécages. De ces résultats, on peut retenir que le SIG a joué un rôle primordial dans cette étude de la restructuration à Porto-Novo.

GIS contribution for Porto-Novo town south-eastern reorganization, Benin

Since the end of last century, planet urbanization is presented as an irreversible phenomenon. In spite of the notable progress made in certain cities, the processes of planning and urban management are not at the level of urban growth. This study does a diagnostic on management policy of setting for a good management of urban space. Specifically, it is to initiate a plan of reorganization of a certain number of infrastructures of the south-eastern part of Porto-Novo town’s urban core. The adopted methodology bases on GIS tool with the use of proximity analysis. As results, one has a clear and precise idea of the number of settlement which is found in the influence of roads, railway and swampy areas. From these results, one can retain that GIS played a paramount role in this study of reorganization in Porto-Novo.
