UrbanTransport Solution An Experience From Prague
Abstract
This paper examines the urban transport problems in Prague in Czech Republic. Based on the result of the research conducted, it was found that with the collapsed
of Communism in Czech Republic, there was an upsurge in the use of private cars which was not possible during communism because the law does not encourage that. This brought about much pressure on the road, thereby causing congestion on the road,
increase in accidents and traffic jams. The paper also examined how the laws can be changed so that certain restrictive measures could not impede expansion of roads for improved transportation. The paper also examined how public transport could be encouraged to ease congestion and pressure on the road.
