Teacher Education in Nigeria: An Overview
Abstract
The paper stresses the importance of teacher education and briefly examined the development of teacher in Nigeria. The (NCE) National Certificate in Education is seen as an
important and basic requirement for teachers to practice. The objectives of teacher education and the role of Commission for Colleges of Education as well as the Curriculum of the NCE were examined by the paper.
