Abstract
Impact of the covenant on a paradigm for pastoral care
This article points out that the covenant has a more comprehensive impact on pastoral care than other paradigms. It is indicated that the contents communicated to the believer as well as the techniques used are influenced by a covenantal paradigm for pastoral care. From a covenantal perspective, a believer can be equipped to regard his / her life within the framework of the covenant. The actions and experiences of the believer are influenced by this sentence: "I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you ... to be your God and the God of your descendants" (Gen. 17:7).
Die verbond het 'n meer omvattende impak op pastorale sorg as ander paradigmas. Genoemde stelling word in hierdie artikel beredeneer. Daar word aangetoon dat die inhoud wat aan die gelowige gekommunikeer word, asook die tegnieke wat gebruik word, deur 'n verbondmatige paradigma vir pastorale sorg be?nvloed word. Vanuit 'n verbondmatige perspektief kan gelowiges toegerus word om hulle lewe binne die raamwerk van die verbond te sien. Alles wat 'n gelowige doen en ervaar, word be?nvloed deur hierdie sin: "Ek bring 'n verbond tot stand tussen My en jou en jou nageslag en al hulle geslagte. Dit is 'n blywende verbond: Ek sal jou God wees en ook die God van jou nageslag" (Gen. 17:7).
