Association entre pancréatite aigue et hyperparathyroïdie : à propos de deux cas observés à Antananarive Association between acute pancreatitis and hyperparathyroidism: a report of two cases from Antananarivo

Abstract

Acute pancreatitis (AP) associated to the hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) has been rarely reported, particularly from Sub-saharan Africa. So, we aimed to report a case that illustrates interactions between AP and PHPT. The case consists of a 23-year-old woman who developed AP, primary hyperparathyroidism and hypercalcemia. And the second case consists of 30 years old woman who developed AP, secondary hyperparathyroidism and hypocalcemia. AP and hyperparathyroidism were considered unrelated and their coexistence was attributed to independent hypercalcemia and high level of parathormone.

La pancréatite aiguë (PA) est rarement associée à l’hyperparathyroïdie, en particulier en Afrique Subsaharienne. Nous rapportons deux cas cliniques épinglant l’interaction possible entre la PA et l’hyperparathyroïdie. Il s’agissait d’une part d’une patiente âgée de 2 ans, présentant une PA et une hyperparathyroïdie primaire associée à une hypercalcémie, et d’autre part une patiente de 30 ans, suivie pour une pancréatite aiguë associée à une hyperparathyroïdie secondaire avec une hypocalcémie. La PA et l’hyperparathyroïdie étaient considérées comme indépendants et leur coexistence était attribuée à des processus indépendants liés à l’hypercalcémie et l’hyperparathormonémie.
