Abstract

La fibromatose colli est une tumeur bénigne, rare, du muscle sternocléidomastoïdien, causant des torticolis congénitaux chez les nouveau-nés ou les nourrissons. A ce jour, le mécanisme étiopathogénique de son apparition reste mal connu. Son diagnostic combine l’examen clinique et l’échographie qui permettent de mettre en évidence un épaississement caractéristique du muscle. Nous rapportons un cas, diagnostiqué par échographie, chez un nourrisson de six semaines sans antécédents particuliers ; dont l’évolution spontanée a été marquée par une régression totale après 3 mois, sans avoir à recourir à un traitement particulier.

Fibromatosis colli is a rare benign tumor of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, causing so-called congenital torticollis in newborns or infants. Until now, the etiopathogenic mechanism of its occurrence remains poorly understood. Its diagnosis combines the clinical examination and ultrasound, which makes it possible to highlight a characteristic thickening of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. We report a case of fibromatosis colli, diagnosed by ultrasound, in a six-week-old infant with no particular history whose spontaneous evolution was towards total regression after 3 months without having to resort to any particular treatment.
